It is so lovely to meet you!

Hi, I am

Zoë Freedman

I am a certified developmental coach, retreat facilitator, yoga instructor, copy writer, dancer, and doula. I have worn many different hats because I am - ultimately - a multi-passionate human!

Professionally, I hold certifications in:

  • Developmental coaching (through Integral Coaching Canada)

  • Neuro Linguistics Programming (NLP)

  • Hypnotherapy

  • Timeline Therapy

  • Meditation

What people tend to remember most about me is my enthusiastic energy, penetrating gaze, and tender way of interacting with others.

My greatest passion is to support and guide others in their journey of Expansion. I love to witness a fellow human step into greater self-knowing, expression, compassion, and fulfillment.

When I’m not working in or on my business you’ll find me dancing, practicing yoga, traveling, sipping tea, reading, communing with nature, and spending time with my loved ones.

Movement has always played a pivotal role in my life; I began studying classical ballet when I was four and continue to find new movement explorations with each passing year of my life.

I reside in San Diego, CA with my husband. A fun fact: my husband and I met doing acro yoga and we are both enneagram 7s (the “enthusiast''). As such, there is a LOT of playful energy and enthusiasm in my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

  • My hunger for understanding, exploration, and getting my hands dirty with life has taken me to many places and involved me in many different pursuits. I was born in Chicago, raised in St. Louis, and now living in San Diego, CA since 2009. I like to say I’m a child of the world. I’ve visited more than 20 countries so far with plenty more left to taste and discover. I was not raised with a particular religion or culture, it was quite open - something I am actually grateful for as it’s allowed me to remain open to exploring this beautiful wonder-filled world from so many different angles.

My first passion and pursuit in life was classical ballet, in which I trained for nearly two decades. Dance eventually brought me to San Diego, where I was invited to be part of the San Diego State University dance department. I moved from St. Louis to San Diego in 2009 for college, eventually graduating with a double major in Dance and Journalism.

After graduating I chose to remain in San Diego completely unsure of what I wanted to do next. Dance, I had decided, was not the path for me professionally. Neither was Public Relations, despite having excelled in my courses and internship. Office life never appealed to me, nor did training all day everyday as a ballerina. Through a fun series of synchronistic events, I began practicing aerial yoga which proved to be a gateway of mindfulness and self-awareness expansion that has led to what I do today.

I spent about four years teaching a LOT of yoga all over San Diego, both aerial and mat yoga. At one point I was teaching 10-15 lessons per week in studios, privately, and at office buildings. The practice of yoga introduced me to a dimension of myself I never knew existed: peaceful, calm, spacious Zoë. Suddenly people were complimenting me on my “soothing voice” and calming presence. This was extraordinary to me (still is) as I was always the “ball of energy.” It always seemed that few people could match my level of energy and zest for life - NEVER had I been told that I was “calm” or “soothing.”

This is the thing about Expansion - you will ALWAYS stumble upon an inner territory you had no idea was there! By this point, my life had radically shifted from busy “DOing” to explorative BEing. This calmer, more spacious approach to living allowed me to notice what really and truly lit me up. It connected me powerfully with my intuition.

My curiosities eventually brought me into the personal development world. The Landmark Forum was one of my first immersive personal development experiences. Books, more courses, workshops, immersions and conversations followed. It was clear to me that THIS was what I wanted to spend all of my time doing. Eventually, I married my two passions of yoga and personal development by creating multi-week experiences like “fearless living on and off the mat.” Since then I’ve created different courses, experiences, retreats, workshops, and growth containers. Over time what I learned is that my true love is studying, exploring, and discussing the human experience.

I’ve found that when we humans have a more Expanded view and grasp on what this experience entails, we feel more empowered. With awareness comes the option for more intentional choices to be made, which then leads to a feeling of empowerment and confidence. Within that context I began to develop and give birth to the latest evolution of my business: the Expansion Experience.

If you’ve read to this point, thank you for witnessing my journey. Thank you for being here. Anytime I meet a fellow human potential/human experience enthusiast I feel immensely grateful. I hope we get a chance to interact in some way. May something on my website speak to your soul and leave you with an Expanded sense of wonder on your path.

  • "Zoë has a tremedous amount of compassion for the things that make us human. Beyond her coaching, her view of the world is what draws people in. It's one of her gifts, and she loves to give it."

  • "Zoë has a way of reminding us compassionately of our humanness. That, yes, we are capable of so much, but that we should give ourselves grace. We will make mistakes, we will falter and that is a normal part of being human."

  • "Zoë's fascination with the human experience is easily felt and so contagious! She loves to share her understandings and contemplations with her community."

  • "One of Zoë’s greatest gifts as a coach, teacher, facilitator and friend is her way of inviting others into a more compassionate and forgiving perspective: 'It’s ok. We are all human.'"
